With water rationing and restrictions still in full force and the town only receiving water every evening between 4pm and 8pm, a sense of doom and gloom has set in.

The almost insignificant rainfall on Saturday night took place amid a Christian Revival prayer for Ladysmith held at the River of Life Church.

Prayers for rain were suddenly greeted with screams of wonder as the cloud-filled sky briefly sprayed down the briefest spattering of rain. Both young and old danced briefly in the rain.

Weather predictions for the week include hot, hot weather as the heatwave continues. Afternoon rains on Thursday and Friday  hold little but brief respite from the drought.
