Lighting up Diwali through prayer

Diwali is an auspicious day on the Hindu calendar. Signifying the victory of good over evil, Hindu families devote the day to spiritual enlightenment and spreading festive joy by visiting family and friends. This past Diwali, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) opened its temple’s doors and offered Newcastillians the opportunity to spend a few minutes in silence, reflecting on the spiritual significance of the day. During the hours of 10am until 9pm, families could devote time to both the spiritual aspect and festive part of the day.
