Fake money on the loose – one man arrested
R500 worth of 'funny money' seized

A 55-year-old man has been arrested for attempting to use counterfeit to buy food at OK Grocers, Dannhauser.
Police said the man went into the shop and attempted to purchase food but the teller was suspicious of the money.
It is further speculated that on the previous day the same suspect tried to use the same counterfeit money to buy items. The police were called and the suspect arrested.
Upon viewing the video footage, the same man was identified as one who bought with the counterfeit money on the previous day. The police also recovered counterfeit money to the value of R50 from the suspect and money to be kept as an exhibit.
An investigation continues.
