Great service at licensing department applauded

85-year-old Hugh Thompson has a good story to tell

Too often we hear about poor service at government departments but this week, 85-year-old Hugh Thompson has a good story to tell.
The elderly gentleman was grateful for the efficient and friendly service he received at the licensing department and wanted readers to know about it.

“I went to the office last Tuesday morning to renew my driver’s licence, which expires in December. The young lady who helped me, Sheila, was very nice to me. She explained what I needed to do, what documents to get and how many photographs,” explained Mr Thompson.

With this information in hand, Mr Thompson returned to the licensing department on Wednesday morning and his licence was renewed with minimal inconvenience.

“I can’t thank Sheila enough. Visiting this office may be unfamiliar to some people and they tend to feel apprehensive but I received wonderful service. It certainly made my day and she deserves the credit,” concluded Mr Thompson.
