Breaking News: Businessman pistol-whipped in robbery
The suspects brutally assaulted the security guard and the 69-year-old businessman, beating them to the ground
A prominent businessman was pistol-whipped with the butt of a gun this morning during a business robbery in Madras Road.
According to a security guard, a male was sitting at the side of the road on the pavement outside the business. Once the main entrance gate was opened, he got up and started walking in the direction of the business premises, accompanied by two other males.
A 69-year old businessman was confronted by the three unknown men. The suspects brutally assaulted the security guard, a driver and the 69-year-old businessman, beating them to the ground. All the victims were tied up.
The thugs then ransacked the place, stealing a laptop, a firearm, cash, a camera DVR and other valuables.
The suspects fled the scene on foot.
Sharaj Ambulance Services responded and stabilised the businessman, before transporting him to hospital.
The K9 Unit and police are currently at the scene.
