Dlamini family still suffering following house fire

Municipality looking for private donors to rebuild home

The struggle goes on for the Dlamini family of Dannhauser whose house was destroyed in a fire last year.

The family, consisting of eight children and four adults, have since been living in a tent behind the house.

The tent was donated to the family by the Dannhauser Municipality’s Disaster Management Team, but it was sadly also destroyed as a result of the heavy rains.

The Disaster Management Team then donated another tent to the family, which they are currently living in.

Disaster Management Manager, Peter Graham, said it was not in the mandate of the local municipality to rebuild homes, but that they were looking for private donors to assist.

Neighbour, Farzana Dookie urged people to assist the family. “The family have been through so much and we can’t stand to see the kids suffer,” she said.
