Nzuzo Nxumalo takes the reigns of the Ncandu 86 Round Table

Ncandu 86 Round Table recently held an induction dinner for its newly-elected chairman, Nzuzo Nxumalo.

He will lead the organisation through the 2016/2017 period.

At Avalon Guest Manor last Friday, outgoing chairman, Johan Pieters, recapped the year that was.

“I kicked off 2015 with the motto, ‘Live every moment – make a difference.’ In 2015/2016, Ncandu 86 Round Table made a significant difference in the lives of various communities within Newcastle, Madadeni, oSizweni, Blaauwbosch and Kilbarchan.”

Mr Pieters added that members had spent more than 286 hours in selfless service of these communities.

From having tea with the elderly at local retirement home, La Gratitude, to growing a ‘Mo’ in November to raise awareness for men’s health matters, Tablers served with hard work and diligence.

“The last project for me as a chairman was definitely one of the highlights of the year: the Ncandu 86 Golf Day. It was a very well-run project, and we still receive compliments from the public and from golfers,” said Mr Pieters.

He thanked sponsors and the community who supported Ncandu 86 Round Table during his reign as chairman, extending his gratitude towards fellow members for their support and dedication.

“You helped me through a tough year; a year where we made a difference not only in the lives of the community, but also between us as a Table. You are a champion team,” concluded Mr Pieters.

The Table also bid a fond farewell to outgoing members, who relocated to new parts of the world, while also welcoming new blood to the charitable fold.
