D-J Rally brings vintage rides to town
This world-famous motorcycle race attracts riders and their classic beauties from around the globe
With the sound of rumbling engines, puffs of exhaust fumes and ecstatic onlookers, participants of the Durban-Johannesburg (DJ) Commemorative Rally drove into town.
The rally, which is in its 103rd year allowed for locals to line up in Victoria Street on Friday, March 11 to view the machines. The motorcyclists enjoyed a lunch stop at the Lion’s Club and refueled before embarking on the rest of journey to Johannesburg.
The bikers were pleasantly welcomed by big smiles from both the public and the little learners of St Gregory Primary School.
This year the race began on Friday, March 11 in Hillcrest and ended in Germiston on Saturday, March 12.
