Donors heed the ‘bloody’ call
On Thursday, 68 donors attended, 57 pints of blood were donated and six new donors were welcomed
Blood donors were given a warm welcome on Thursday when they visited the Estcourt Town Hall.
It was that time of the month that the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) hosted a blood donor clinic.

The requirements for donating blood are that you are 16-years or older, weigh more than 50 kilograms and lead a healthy lifestyle. If these are in check, potential donors then fill in a lifestyle questionnaire, weigh themselves and have their iron and blood pressure checked.

If all is in order, the donor lies back and donates a pint of life-saving blood. On Thursday, 68 donors attended, 57 pints of blood were donated and six new donors were welcomed.
