Battle Axe Ministries host Family Fun Fest
This fun run and family day is guaranteed to be jam packed with exciting games and goodies and will help raise funds to complete the church

Battle Axe Ministries, which has been in operation for the past five years is hosting a Family Fun Fest this weekend. The ministry started in Pastor Pramesh Gobinparsadh’s home and due to the number of new members attending, the congregation decided to build a church. To complete the church, a fundraiser was organised.
The Family Fun Fest will be held on Sunday, April 24 and begins at 9am, at the play grounds between First and Third avenues.
There will be lots to do and see for both young and old.
A lucky draw will take place every hour during the event. There will also be a hot dog eating contest, tug of war, arm wrestling and loads of other races. The little ones can look forward to meeting Shano the clown, while several prizes will be up for grabs. Tickets are R10 for the 3km and R20 for the 5km walk/run.
Stalls cost R100 each. All are welcome to attend.
The ministry is centred on the youth and their development. Battle Axe hosts movie nights every Friday to attract the youth and give them something constructive to do.
“One of the greatest challenges we face is the drug and alcohol problem in this town.
“To get youth off the streets is a challenge. Due the lack of facilities in our small town, this makes it more perplexing,” explained Pastor Pramesh.
The ministry has also been involved in feeding and clothing the homeless in town on a daily basis. The bigger vision for the ministry is to build an orphanage in the Forderville area. All work done by the ministry is voluntary and funding for the ministry is contributed by the Pastor and the congregation.
This fun run and family day is guaranteed to be jam packed with exciting games and goodies and will help raise funds to complete the church and purchase necessary equipment.
