Police in the Uthukela Cluster arrested a number of suspects for crimes related to drugs, stolen property, unlicensed firearms and unlicensed ammunition.

On April 18, six of these suspects appeared in various courts in the Uthukela Cluster. On April 15 at about 6pm Estcourt police arrested a 26-year-old woman in Harding Street. She was found in possession of clothing suspected to have been stolen.

Later the same day a 42-year-old man was arrested at in KwaBhekuzulu area after he was found in possession of 15 rounds of unlicensed ammunition. Bergville SAPS followed suit and arrested a 46-year-old man on April 17 at around midnight.

He was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm at Rookdale area. This was followed by an arrest at Emmaus area at 1am where a 41-year-old man was arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Winterton police arrested a 42-year-old man in a house along the R600 road on April 16 at around midnight for the possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Another suspect was given a notice to appear in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on May 5 after he was arrested in Forderville on April 15. He was found in possession of six grams of dagga.
