Woman survives being thrown out of vehicle

A member of the public came to the rescue of a young woman this afternoon (Wednesday) after seeing her being thrown out of a bakkie.

According to the motorist, he saw the woman being flung out of the bakkie along the new road leading to Ezakheni. The driver then pushed the woman back into the vehicle and drove off.

The concerned motorist gave chase as the vehicle headed towards the Acaciavale area.

Police, Public Safety and NN Alarms were notified and managed to block the bakkie at the Protea Road bridge.

Officers found the woman in the passenger seat, blood pouring down her face.

Sharaj Ambulance Services stabilised and transported her to hospital.

The driver of the bakkie was arrested by police.
