Blood donors share the gift of life

Donors rolled up their sleeves to aid those in need of blood, such as car accident victims, cancer patients and mothers in labour

Locals made their way to the town hall last Thursday, July 14 to share a pint of their liquid love.

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) held their monthly blood clinic between 11am and 6pm and the team collected 50 pints of blood.

They also welcomed a total of 54 blood buddies who were in attendance, two of which were new donors. Donors rolled up their sleeves to aid those in need of blood, such as car accident victims, cancer patients and mothers in labour.

This worthy cause will help make sure a person in need can live another day, get to be at another birthday party or anniversary, with the help of our local heroes and heroines.

There is currently an urgent need for blood. To all who attended, your support and life-saving pint of blood is greatly appreciated.
The next monthly blood donor clinic will be held on Thursday, August 11.
