Discovering future pop idols right here

Who knows, the next Elvis or Sonja may just come from Glencoe…

A commendable effort to launch local talent saw the light in the golf club when Cabous van der Schyf, who used to work at Springlake, introduced his son, Joe ‘Somebody’ and their friends and colleagues to Dundee.
Cabous told the Courier that he brought Joe and his family and friends from Johannesburg to kick off the first event.
It took the form of an open mic night, and Cabous said his objective is to ‘draw out any slumbering singing talent in Dundee to join them.’
They will also play gigs at any wedding or function that may require their folksy taste in music. Anybody interested may contact Cabous to inquire about the next gig. Who knows, the next Elvis or Sonja may just come from Glencoe…
