Eqhweni excels at 2016 Language Festival

At district level they were awarded certificates and trophies

Eqhweni Combined School participated in the 2016 Language Festival and the learners came out on top in the ward competitions held in the district.

At district level they were awarded certificates and trophies. They entered the following categories:
Creative poetry (Onke Mazibuko) obtained first position.
Zondo Andiswa also obtained first place in story- telling.
Drama, which was performed by Mfuphi Sicacile, Masilela Asimbonge, Mazibuko Samkelo Nxumalo Akhona and Mkhize Asemahle also obtained first place.
Gama Ziyanda, Shabalala Anikelwa, Mazibuko Nolwazi and Mazibuko Simnikiwe obtained first place in group poetry.

The school appreciates the effort of the Language Festival team for preparing the learners for this competition. The school is very proud of Mr Mdluli, Miss Buthelezi, Miss Mabaso, Miss Mkhonza and other educators who dedicated their time to ensure that the competition is a success.
