Monday
We left Dundee High at 6:30am to travel down to Durban. We stayed at the Environmental Centre for three nights.
First, we went to Mitchell Park for a picnic lunch and we played in the park. Then we went to the Sugar Terminal where we watched the Story of Sugar. We also went into the silo to see raw sugar. After that we went to Pirates Beach. It was cold so we were only going to put our feet in, but the next thing we were totally wet! After a shower and supper we went to the Sun Coast Casino arcade games to win tickets and get a toy.
Tuesday
At the Sharks Board we watched a video about sharks and about the shark nets. They told us not to swim at night because the nets will not help. Then we went outside where they cut open a shark and showed us what it looks like inside. After that, we went to the beach and then to Crocodile Creek. Our tour guide was Shawn. He jumped into the pond and was pulling out the alligators!! We also went to see snakes and the class held the snake and then we also held a crocodile! We had fish and chips for supper and then we went to the ice rink to skate.

Wednesday
We went to uShaka Marine World. We learnt about lots of sea animals from around the world. We also went to the dolphin show. It was so amazing. Then it was off to Umgeni Bird Park. We played in the park and some children went to feed the birds. Then we went to the beach again. The boys changed in the bus! We all swam but poor Nsindiso got stung by a blue bottle. After a supper of beef curry we went to watch a movie – Pete’s Dragon.
Thursday
In the morning the boys woke us up! We packed the bus and went to Umhlanga Beach. We left the beach at 11:30am and went to Pietermaritzburg to Butterflies for Africa. On our way home we were stuck in a traffic jam for one hour! We got back to Dundee at 6.30pm
