Elite athletes regain supremacy at time trials

Vanthee dominated the ladies 2km walk event, winning in an impressive time.

2km Walk Ladies: 1st Vasanthee Naicker 16m57s; 2nd Lani van der Mescht 19m02s; 3rd Shaida and “Baby” Reya Soobramoney 24m46s.
2km Walk Mens: 1st Cronje Stadler 19m02s; 2nd Anand Soobramoney 24m37s.
2km Run Boys: 1st Suheshan Soobramoney 12m12s.
3km Walk Ladies: 1st Thobeka Mabatha 23m15s.
3km Run Ladies: 1st Jayrushka Massallia 17m19s; America Gopie 18m09s (P.B.).
8km Run Mens: 1st Siphiwe Ndlela 27m47s; 2nd Bongani Sabelo 29m35s; 3rd Joe Khumalo 31m38s; 4th Petrus Mavuso 33m24s.
Vanthee dominated the ladies 2km walk event, winning in an impressive time. Cronje won the mens 2km walk event.
Thobeka walked the 3km ladies walk event in an excellent time. Jayruska cruised in to win the ladies 3km run event.
The mens 8km run was the main event and consisted of four top runners. Top Nedbank athlete, Siphiwe Ndlela, ran a cracking time to win the race followed by Bongani, Joe and Petrus, with all four running fast times.
Please note that time trials takes place every Wednesday at 17:15pm in front of Dundee Junior School on Excelsior Lane. It is open to the public, young or old and is free. For more information contact Rikesh on 071 884 7222 or Ivan on 084 444 2266.
