Drumming up a beat at Biggarsberg Primary School for Heritage Day

A colourful collage of culture and fun marks South African heritage

With over 250 drums thumping in rhythm, the atmosphere was certainly upbeat when Biggarsberg Primary School today hosted their annual Heritage Day festival.

There was gumboot dancing, Zulu dancing, traditional wear and even the teachers got into the act… however, it was the Klitsgras Drumming team of Pretoria who brought their drums with them who stole the show.

The learners, visitors and teachers all had a chance to drum with Andries, Achoo and Daniel of Klitsgras conducing the mass drumming which the children took to with wide-eye excitement.
