Once 'hooked', Chris soon realised he wanted to tell his story via this musical art form that is great at expressing real life issues in rhythm and poetry

Christopher Prinsloo, who goes by the stage moniker C.H.R.I.S, was born in the township of Emagogogweni, Steadville, and his love for music began at a young age.
Growing up listening to various genres of music, Chris was particularly captivated by rap / hip-hop. Once ‘hooked’, Chris soon realised he wanted to tell his story via this musical art form that is great at expressing real life issues in rhythm and poetry.
Working with South African Hip Hop Awards (SAHHA) nominee Megan Opperman (aka ‘MEGMAFIA’) on tracks such as ‘Gold Chain’, ZaiMaya’s ‘Number One’ and ‘We Hot’, Chris is going from strength to strength and just loves the written rhyme that sets hip-hop apart from other styles of music.
Currently working with producer / DJ Sibusiso Khumalo (aka ‘DJ Khumza’) on an upcoming EP (extended play), Chris has had time to infuse his storytelling into new-age hip-hop trends.
Yes, C.H.R.I.S is currently ready to release his debut EP entitled ‘Under The Radar’, and his debut single ‘Lomtwana Lo’ (featuring DJ Khumza) is on Data File Host for free downloading.
The aspiring musician is also currently working on his album ‘Artistic Rhythmic Techniques (A.R.T)’, and is ready to introduce it and himself to the masses as an upcoming innovator of the hip-hop and rap culture.
His main goal being to make good music, the upcoming artist is also an aspiring businessman with Melanin Publishing Enterprise, who are looking to groom homegrown talent in terms of art and music in general.
