Durban visitor surprises Time Trialists

He did extremely well by running a cracking time in the boys 4km run event.

2km Walk Ladies: 1st Vasanthee Naicker 17m02s, 2nd Shaida and “Baby” Reya Soobramoney 22m03s.
2km Walk/Jog Mens: 1st Anand Soobramoney 19m43s.
2km Run Boys: 1st Suheshan Soobramoney 12m13s, 2nd Taashlin Soobramoney 12m19s and 3rd Ruuvlin Soobramoney 21m04s.
3km Walk/Jog Ladies: 1st Kholiwe Buthelezi 21m45s.
4km Run Ladies: 1st Thobeka Mbatha 19m36s.
8km Run Mens: 1st Siphiwe Ndlela 27m44s, 2nd Bongani Sabelo 28m28, 3rd Thokozani Phungula 28m42s, 4th Joe Khumalo 29m41, 5th Eric Nelson 32m49 and Petrus Mavuso (injured).
4m Run Boys: 1st Shayurin Murugasen 19m12.
Vasanthee dominated the ladies 2km walk in a fast time. Shaida and “Baby” Reya returned after the break. Anand improved to attempt his first 2km walk/jog. The Soobramoney clan made up the field in the boys 2km run event. Suheshan headed the field followed by Taashlin and Ruuv. Kholiwe completed the ladies 3km walk/jog event. Thobeka ran the ladies 4km run event in a good time. The highlight of the day was Sayur Murugasen. This youngster is from Durban and is on holiday visiting his family. He did extremely well by running a cracking time in the boys 4km run event. The mens 8km run was won by Siphiwe in a phenomenal time. Unfortunately one of our top athletes, Petrus, pulled his calf muscle whilst running.
