Mayor calls on Matrics to take that final hurdle
Note: the Matric Certificate is actually the license to your future!

Again it is that time of the year when our Grade 12s assemble for their year-end final examinations. The purpose of this message is to wish all Grade 12 learners all the best for the exams which started last week.
I am making a special request to all members of School Governing Bodies to mobilise parents to keep on being supportive of our learners. I further urge the SAPS to be on board to ensure those students who are found ‘hiding in corners’ taking drugs, are attended to accordingly.
I urge parents, grandparents, guardians and other family members to give their children extra love, care and support while they prepare and write their matric exams.
You have reached the last stage of your secondary school education.
You have worked hard together with your passionate and dedicated educators.
May God be with all of you and I hope to read that many of you are top achievers when the results do come out.
I particularly urge our community members to give much support to all learners. Learners must all know that they have my unconditional support during their examinations. Note: the Matric Certificate is actually the license to your future!
To the Hindu community: The Holy festival of Diwali was recently celebrated and I thank you for respecting animals and little children, thereby ensuring that the display of fireworks was handled in a dignified and peaceful manner, My apology goes to those who were affected due to the electricity shortfall. I promise to rectify and prevent such challenges in future and we look forward towards working together for our town.
