Today is by-election day in Ward 20

The voting polls in Ward 20 are situated at the Acaciavale Clinic, Acaciavale Primary School and KwaMthandi next to the hall

Today (November 9), by-elections are taking place in Ward 20, Acaciavale area, to elect a new councillor.

This comes in the wake of the ambush attack that claimed the life of Khanyisile Ngobese-Sibisi, who was a candidate for the ANC in the build-up to the August 3 local government elections.

The African National Congress (ANC), Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) and Democratic Alliance (DA) will be competing, each trying to get the votes needed to secure Ward 20.

The voting polls in Ward 20 are situated at the Acaciavale Clinic, Acaciavale Primary School and KwaMthandi next to the hall.

The top three candidates who will be competing in the by-elections are: Thabisile Njoko (ANC), Siphamandla Mduduzi Njoko (IFP) and Sizwe Sithebe (DA).

Special votes were done yesterday, leaving today as the last day to cast your vote.
