Even journalists donate on ‘O So Special Day’

Our very own journalists, Mara Botha and Njabulo Khumalo, did their good deed and also donated blood on the day

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) hosted an ‘O So Special Day’ on Wednesday from 9am till 6pm at San Marco Centre. 119 caring people went to the Blood Donor Clinic to donate their “life-giving essence“, and 113 of them were allowed to donate.

Each donor received a token of appreciation for their donation.

Our very own journalists, Mara Botha and Njabulo Khumalo, did their good deed and also donated blood on the day. It was Njabulo’s first blood donation and he had to overcome a few initial nerves before the needle was “gently jabbed” into his arm.

The staff presented each donor with a hot dog, juice and biscuits.

The SANBS staff would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who came and donated; they were real heroes!
