The Grade R class and their song ‘Little Kittens’ captured many hearts.

Uelzen Primay School hosted their foundation phase (Grade R to Grade 3) prize giving ceremony on Monday and it was a nostalgic evening with programme director, Ingrid van Staden, showing the youngsters a display of ‘olden days’ suitcases that her sons took to Uelzen – not like today’s ‘zooty school bags’.
Rita Hellberg, a former Uelzen scholar and retired school secretary, was on hand to play the accordion. The Grade Rs captured everyone’s hearts with their songs while the recorder playing and songs of the other Grades was proof of the hard work gone into moulding the young minds at Uelzen.

Nikysha Ragubeer received the trophy for best foundation phase learner. She received her trophy from special guest, former Uelzen teacher, Claire Holliday.
