Interesting facts about Christmas

1. Five months into the First World War, troops along the Western front took a Christmas Eve break from fighting to sing carols to one another across the battlefield.
2. Santa Claus used to wear the colours blue, white and green in the past. His traditional red suit came from a 1930s advertisment by Coca-Cola.

3. ‘Silent Night’ is the most recorded Christmas song in history. It has had over 733 different versions copyrighted since 1978.

4. Christmas was declared illegal in England in the year 1644 by an Act of Parliament due to the fact that it was associated with revelry and merrymaking.
5. Christmas supposedly marks the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25. But there is no mention of December 25 in the Bible and most historians actually believe He was born in the spring.
