Water leaks for months and months

The leak poses a danger to children, as they could easily fall into the hole that has been dug

A pipe burst in Marula Drive has turned the street into a flowing river for months on end.

The burst pipe is right outside a house, causing homeowners in the area a major problem when it comes to accessing their yard.

Many young children can be seen playing in the area surrounding the burst pipe and the constant leaking water poses a danger to these children, as they could easily fall into the hole that has been dug around the leaking pipe.

Construction is currently underway in Marula Drive and surrounding roads. The construction crew contacted uThukela on numerous occasions, but the pipe was not attended to.

They took matters into their own hands and fixed the pipe themselves, as they need to continue with the construction of the sidewalk in Marula Drive.

The leak has been repaired by the construction workers, but how long will it stay fixed, say residents.
