Bursaries awarded by Newcastle Municipality

The bursaries awarded totaled R700 000.00 for this year and depending on the success of the students in 2017, this programme will continue annually.

NEWCASTLE CBD – Newcastle Mayor Makosini Nkosi addressed 10 students who received bursaries from the Newcastle Municipality, to complete their qualifications in their chosen fields, on January 26.

The bursaries awarded totaled R700 000.00 for this year and depending on the success of the students in 2017, this programme will continue annually.

The students were excited about the opportunity afforded to them.

“We have assigned an officer who will specifically monitor the progress of the students by administering reports on their performance, written test results, university attendance patterns and their general welfare,” said Mayor Nkosi.

He further advised the students to establish priorities, and be dedicated in their work, study hard and make Newcastle proud.
