Enthusiastic DHS off to a busy start

Battle of the “Boodies”
On Tuesday, January 17, 14 excited teams lined up for the first annual DHS Battle of the “Boodies”.
This is a challenge that was developed by all the sport coaches at Dundee High School to test both the mental and physical fitness of sport stars and even upcoming talent for the new season at DHS.

Op die woord het spanne weggespring na ses verskillende punte op die skool se sportgronde en het teen die horlosie gekompeteer om uiteindelik die fikste span in DHS gekroon te word. Daar was kleurvolle superhelde, spanne me uiterste selfvertroue en selfs ‘n paar graad 8’s wat die uitmergelende uitdaging aangepak het.

After much complaining, sitting down, heavy breathing and a bit of encouragement, all the teams that participated managed to complete the whole course. But one thing is definitely sure at Dundee High School this year: There is no shortage of spirit, fitness, natural talent and enthusiasm.

DHS wens almal wat deelneem aan die sportkodes van kwartaal een en twee (atletiek, multisport, swem, rugby, hokkie en netbal) alle voorspoed toe vir die komende seisoen en ons beaam ons skool se leuse: Strenius Ardua Cedunt!

Annual inter-house athletics
On Friday, January 20, DHS had their annual interhouse athletics meeting. Many athletes performed extremely well and it was such a pleasure to enjoy the excitement of the whole school as talented athletes competed for first place. The school looks forward to see what these young athletes will achieve in 2017.

Colour Festival

Every year DHS hosts a festival that marks the end of Gr8 orientation. It is also a nice way for all the learners to enjoy the start of a new term and year at DHS. On Wednesday, January 25, learners took to the field and enjoyed a messy but fun filled afternoon. Many could be seen running away anxiously from friends! The learners were definitely more colourful and amusing after this festival.
