The Summer Golf Business League got under way last Wednesday afternoon under gloomy skies at Dundee Country Club. Fortunately the rain held off until everyone had completed their round.
The first match between Deb’s Embroidery and Morning Dew Chickens ended in a 38-38 draw with the second match between OK Value and The Shed also finishing level at 44 points a piece.
In the final match of the afternoon, Farmtrac managed to squeak home by one point to beat Farmers Agri-Care 39-38. Friday afternoon’s 10 hole meat competition saw eleven players taking part and walking away with some extra meat was Abri Pretorius and Danie Von Mollendorff after finishing first and second respectively. Both players scored 22 points.
The club competition on Saturday was a 4 BBBS event in which thirty-five players took part and saw the pairing of Wynand Ackerman and Sifiso Kunene wining the count out on 43 points to finish first. Second position went to Clement Sithole who also paired up with Sifiso Kunene, and in third place was the pairing of Debbie Catlett and Ronel Purchase, also on 43 points.
Bertie Venter scored eleven points on the allocated jackpot holes to earn himself a little extra cash while Wynand Ackerman recorded the only 2 Club for the day to also collect some spending money. This weeks fixtures: Wednesday afternoon at 4pm is the second round of the Summer Business League, Friday afternoon is 10 hole Meat Competition and Saturday’s club competition is the February Monthly Mug and The Mug Of Mugs for 2016, so players get your names down early by contacting The Pro Shop on 034 218 1000.
