Thrilling end to angling nailbiter

The Transnat Knock Out Angling Competition proved to be a thriller as each of the six clubs of the APL were locked in a battle for the top four spots at Sandford on November 26 in order to advance to the semi-final.

Kaveer Singh. of Breakwaters. has struck form and has won the orange cap for League 3 and during the Knock Out Eliminator. He made 14 points, winning the “orange cap”, R200 sponsored by Glencoe Angling Club and an outright trophy. He currently holds the “green” cap as the overall leader in the APL with 30 pts; followed by Albert Van Niekerk (26 pts – BAC) and Monty Slabbert (25 pts – BAC).
The top five anglers for Breakwaters and Stillwaters were Kaveer Singh (14 points); Vishal Jawair (11 pts); Matthew Shunmugam (6pts); Shakeel Sheik (5 pts) and Sipho Manyoni (5 pts). The overall leader in Breakwaters is Monty Slabbert (37 pts); Kaveer Singh (30 pts) and Albert Van Niekerk (28 pts).
In the semi-final on February 11, 2018, at Richgate Park, Ladysmith AC will take on Challengers while Breakwaters will be up against Dannhauser AC.
The next fixture of the APL is the VME League 4 at Sandford on December 10.
