Dundee Hindu Temple forthcoming prayers 2018 Ramayan Week Ram – Naam is the essence of the four Vedas.

It is He, who will be with you at all times and grant you peace and solace when you are distressed. The Dundee Hindu Temple will be observing Ramayan week from Sunday, March 18 to Sunday, March 25, commencing at 6pm daily. The Ramayan will be read and bhajans and kirtans will be rendered. On Sunday, March 25, Ram Naumee will be celebrated from 8:30am, commencing with Ganesh Pooja, Ram Katha and concluding with aarthi at 12 noon. Shri Hanuman Jayanthi Hanuman Jayanthi will be celebrated on Saturday, March 31 commencing at 3pm.

The Hanuman Chalisa will be recited eleven times, kirtans and bhajans will be rendered concluding with hawan and aarthi. Tamil New Year Tamil New Year will be celebrated on April 14.
Prayer service will commence from 10am onwards. Chitrai Paruvum Kavady Chitrai Paruvum is the first full moon of the Tamil new year.
A full moon is considered auspicious in many religions because of its effects on the attitude of people. A full moon is said to promote creativity and positive sentiments. Sentiments are said to ride on higher waves of consciousness leading to an abundance of positive energy.
The chitrai paravum kavady is conducted on a smaller scale than the Thaipoosam kavady, but with the same significance. Prayers to Lord Muruga on this auspicious day is said to have special benefits. Lord Muruga is the destroyer of sickness and negativity.
