For nearly four months residents from Paterson Street, numbers 3 to 11, have been complaining about poor service delivery and the grass which is left to grow wild in the residential area, along with other problems say the residents.
“The long grass is a problem, but we are more worried about the safety of our children,” said Mr Singh, one of the residents of Paterson Street.
According to him there are many other problems including snakes and other creatures, which the residents have had to face, ever since the grass had got into this state.
“After weeks of complaining the residents are fed up with the unresponsive municipality. We reported the problem for the first time in January, and have made repeated inquiries about the situation, with little success,” said Singh.
The Newcastle Advertiser contacted the relevant department for response, but none was forthcoming at the time of publication.
