Dundee win zone seniors four bowls
This coming Thursday promises to be very entertaining with the final round to be played and the ultimate winner determined.
The Dundee Bowling Club hosted the Zone Senior Fours competition this past Saturday. The 24 bowlers could not have asked for better playing conditions as it turned out to be a beautiful autumn day. Unfortunately, only two ladies teams entered and therefore only one game was played. It was the Vryheid ladies that came out on top, beating the Dundee ladies by only two shots. In the Men’s section, a total of four teams took to the greens with each team playing three games each. Some great bowls were played but it was the Dundee Men’s team that walked away with the honours, winning all three of their games and in so doing triumphing over the Vryheid, Ncandu and Newcastle teams with the latter ending in second position.

How quickly things can change after two games! Log leaders after the previous rounds have dropped to fourth position with Sarel Cilliers and No Name Brand in first and second position respectively. The leaderboard is very tight with the top three teams all sitting on the same amount of points with only shot difference separating the three. The leaderboard after the penultimate rounds as follows: Sarel Cilliers 16 +32; No Name Brand 16 +24; Merry Men 16 +19; Langfontein 14 +12.

The club senior singles gets underway this coming Saturday. The competition will be played over two Saturdays being this Saturday and next Saturday. Come down to the club to support our senior players.
On Friday, April 20, the Dundee Bowling Club and Dr Cornie Malan will be hosting a “Diesel and Dust Evening” at the club. The cost is only R70 per person which includes a hamburger and bar snacks. The time is 5:30pm for 6pm. Kindly RSVP by April 12 for catering purposes. So… if you’re a petrol head or just have a keen interest in cars, come down to the club and enjoy this unique evening at the Dundee Bowling Club.
