Ward 3 elects new ward committee members

Even though there was a bad turn out from the community, the ward committee meeting continued.

Ward 3 Councillor, Thabani Mlotshwa, called a community meeting in Sithembile last Friday to elect four members to fill the four vacant posts in his ward committee.
There was a poor turn out and due to this, the meeting started an hour late. Only a handful of community members came to the meeting, however, the meeting continued.
Four new members were elected: Thulani Lekgau, Dumisani Phakathi, Nompilo Zitha and Tsho Zulu.

The war room, situated directly opposite the hall, has been re-established and the community was advised to make use of it as it’s there to be of service to them.

It was also announced that municipal posts will also be posted on the notice board at the war room; proof of address letters from the councillors will also be available at the war room.
Councillor Mlotshwa welcomed the new members to his committee and said that “we have to work hand-in-hand with the community and we will face challenges, but by working together we will be able to uplift Sithembile and build it forward”.

With his reassurance of working together with the community, it was a fruitful meeting.
“We hope that since we have a fully operational committee, we will see change and that the Councillor will indeed keep his word because so far we have not seen any changes in Sithembile,” said a community member. *Councillor Mlotshwa has denied rumours that surfaced last week that he had resigned from the Council.
He described the rumours as a conspiracy against him.
