DSS learner rises to the top

The Oval stadium recently hosted a multi-code school sporting tournament that was sponsored by The Department Of Sport And Recreation Umzinyathi. The tactical game of Chess was one of the sporting codes that saw participants put their skill to the test and battle for top position. Sarel Cilliers High School, Ethangeni Combined School, Sebenzakusakhanya Secondary, Dundee High School and Dundee Secondary were among the participating schools.
Dundee Secondary’s Lindokuhle Shabangu secured the ‘Player of the Tournament’ title. Lindokuhle’s passion for the game of Chess began when she was in Grade six and she was skilled enough to secure third place in her category in The SA Chess tournament in 2017.
