Pool players take to the high seas
Competition was fierce and organiser, Assie, managed to make to the semi-finals, only to be beaten on the black ball by Sebastian.
The sound of a pool cue hitting a pool ball again reverberated around Glencoe last Friday when the Seven Seas Restaurant hosted a singles pool competition. Arranged by the irrepressible Assie van Aswegen and ‘Captain’ Ranesh, the competition attracted a good crowd of enthusiasts who braved the chilly winter’s night.
Competition was fierce and organiser, Assie, managed to make to the semi-finals, only to be beaten on the black ball by Sebastian. Kooks and Sebastian met in the finals, and with Alan as referee, it was the youngster, Sebastian, who was crowned champion. Assie thanked all those who supported the competition and reminded players to be on the lookout for the doubles competition to be played this Friday at Seven Seas, Glencoe Spar Centre.
