Johnson and Steele take picture-perfect bowls honours
A huge thank you to Newcastle Bowling Club who entered a total of eight teams. The day was played in wonderful spirit with many games very close and the scoring very tight.
The Dundee Bowling Club on Saturday hosted the annual Slabbert/Arndt Pairs Tournament and what a phenomenally well supported and organised day it was and all for a good cause too – cancer awareness as well as remembering those that have lost their fight to the disease. A total of 52 bowlers, some as young as nine-years-old, novices and seasoned bowlers took to the well-prepared greens on a picture-perfect winter’s morning to do battle.

In third place were Stephen and Samantha Shaw from Newcastle, second place Lou and Elena le Roux also from Newcastle but the winners of the day were Des Johnson from Dundee and Douglas Steele from Newcastle. Congratulations to you both. KZNCB Open Fours Playoffs
The Club would like to wish its four lady members, Essie, Lyn, Jo-Ann and Cheryl, who won the Northern Zone Open Fours competition in Volksrust two weeks ago.
Travelling mercies as they travel to Richards Bay to compete in the KZNCB Open Fours Playoffs this coming weekend. Unfortunately, Hannelie, who skipped the side in Volksrust is unable to play due to injury. Good bowling ladies, keep the Dundee flag flying high.
