Easy victories for Dundee league golfers

This past Sunday saw Dundee golf club play hosts to the fourth round of the N.KZN Men’s B league golf fixtures, and the two Dundee B teams took full advantage of playing on their home course to record easy victories over their opponents.
Mandla Mthethwa’s ‘B1’ team overcame a determined Ladysmith C.C. side 8-4 after Mandla and his playing partner, Clement Chawanda, won their morning foursomes match 3/1, and then went on to both easily win their singles matches, Mandla 5/4 and Clement 4/2.
The ‘B2’ team, captained by Barry Sandy, enjoyed a comfortable 9-3 victory against Kilbarchan G.C. as K.P. Smith 5/4, Marc Bradbury 4/2 and Willie Maritz 3/2 recorded victories in their singles, while Barry halved his game.
Saturday’s Monthly Mug Medal for July attracted a disappointing 20 players and it was John Zulu who won the Men’s A division Mug with Clement Chawanda picking up the Mug in the Men’s B division. Lorien De Wit took home the Ladies B division Mug while Jacqui Le Grange won the Ladies C division. The prize for the best gross score on the day went to Jo Khumalo after he shot a 73.
