With Newcastle Golf Club packed with players, sponsors and supporters, a significant amount was raised for Newcastle Hockey Club.
Golfers got an early start on Saturday morning (July 7), at the Newcastle Hockey Club Golf Day.
The format of play was Better Ball.

Results for the day were as follows:
- First – Anthony and Willy Clayton with 50 points.
- Second – Ebert and Boland Koorts with 49 points after a count-out.
- Third – Alan Amos and George Meyer with 49 points onco.
- Fourth – Graham Sharp and Wesley Louw, also with 49 points onco.
- Fifth – Mike Swart and Adriaan Roux with 48 points.
