24 golfers in Saturday’s I.P.S. club competition

Six players managed to record a 2 Club on the day.

Dundee Country Club members were proud to see local professional golfer, Louis Albertse Jnr, competing on The Sunshine Tour, and making the cut in a field of over 150 Pro golfers to compete in the Karen Masters held in Kenya.
Louis carded rounds of 72-71-71-73 he finished on -1 and tied for 33rd place, and we wish him all the best for next week’s tournament to be held at Royal Swazi C.C.
Twenty four golfers took part in Saturday’s I.P.S. club competition at Dundee C.C. and it was a day of exceptional rounds played by a number of golfers.
Winning the day with an outstanding 43 individual points was Marc Bradbury, one point ahead of second-placed Bertie Venter.
Third place went to Churchill Maphanga who managed to beat Carel Vermuelen on a count-out after both players scored 40 points.
The diminutive Reynier van Rensburg Jnr finished in fifth place on 39 points and all five of the above players have had their handicap cut by a shot or two.
Six players managed to record a 2 Club on the day, and they were; Reynier Van Rensburg Jnr on the 4th, Vlooi Slabbert at the 8th, Churchill Maphanga, Danie Von Molendorff and Richard Catlett all on the 12th with K.P. Smith recording his 2 Club on the 16th hole with a great chip in.
Dave’s Wednesday competition saw 12 players taking part with the ever consistent Jo Khumalo winning with 24 individual points, while the Friday Chicken attracted seven players and was won by Lala Govender on 23 points.
An important reminder to all Dundee C.C. members that your subscriptions for 2018/19 are now due and members are requested to make the necessary payments as soon as possible.
This week’s fixtures; Dave’s Wednesday 10 Holes Comp, Friday 10 Holes Chicken Run and Saturday’s Club competition will be 4 B.B.B. Bonus Bogey.
