115 year old man shares birthday with Madiba

His eyesight is still 'good' as is his memory and was described as an active member of the community.

Fifteen years older than Madiba would have been, Misiso Khuzwayo could be the oldest man in the country.
Still vibrant, Mr Khuzwayo marked Mandela Day by celebrating his 115th birthday at his home at Vumbuka, a remote area on the outskirts of the Endumeni Municipal area. He is still able to walk but with the aid of a walking stick.
His eyesight is still ‘good’ as is his memory and was described as an active member of the community.

Mayor Richard Mbatha and officials from the Government Communication Information System, together with various government departments from Endumeni and Utrecht, went to his homestead on July 18 where they treated he and his wife, Siqanga, who is 80, to a birthday cake, groceries and blankets. Mayor Mbatha congratulated Mr Khuzwayo on his birthday and remarked that ‘we are blessed to have the oldest man in the country in our area’.
The Department of Social Services in Dundee office also used this day to swap the old SASSA cards for Mr Khuzwayo and his wife to the new gold cards. Local Nduna, Mgwavumeleni Zondo, thanked the government as a whole and paid the greatest salute as a traditional council by donating R1 000 to the Khuzwayo family.
