Pedestrian run over, killed on Victoria Street
The road was closed to traffic to allow police to clear the scene

A 24-year-old man died this morning when he was run over and killed on Victoria Street near the Lloyd Street intersection. Police closed the road to traffic while awaiting for a mortuary van and officials to remove the body.
It was said that the victim and his brother were walking together when the driver of a Polo vehicle lost control and hit one of the men. The right hand front and the windscreen of the Polo were damaged.
The driver was questioned by police. Relatives of the victim were also on the scene. The Courier expresses its condolences to the man’s family and friends. He is yet to be named by police.
