Shed your burdens – message to women at Women’s Month conference

. The message, 'Handbag of the heart/heart transplant', challenged the delegates to be careful of the things they carry in their hearts

The dynamic ladies of the House of Anointing Ministries made sure a cold winter’s morning was kept warm during a women’s seminar entitled ‘What’s in your bag?” held at the SAVF Hall, Glencoe.

Some of the ladies were keen to show what was the most important item in their handbags.

Roschelle and Shirley seemed to be enjoying their morning…

With mischievous Sharmaine Haripersadh as the ‘lady of ceremonies’, the ice-breaker session made sure all the women at the conference relaxed and got to know each other through fun and laughter. There was even more merriment when Sharmaine got the ladies to display their most precious items in their handbags.
There were also prizes for ladies who had more items in their bags than the guest speaker, retired teacher, Linda James of Durban.
On the Sunday, second guest speaker, Fiona Warren, also of Durban, concluded by speaking from 1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” – which was the theme of the conference. The message, ‘Handbag of the heart/heart transplant’, challenged the delegates to be careful of the things they carry in their hearts.
