Golfer Sifiso shoots one under par

A reasonable field of 21 golfers turned up on Saturday at Dundee C.C. to participate in the Monthly Mug medal competition for September.
An excellent round of one under par 70 by Sifiso Kunene saw him comfortably win the Men’s A division Mug by three shots over second-placed Kallie Roets, and also picked up the meat hamper for the Best Gross Score of the day.
Sibusiso Sithole recorded a net 66 to take home the Men’s B division Mug, finishing two shots clear of Danie Von Molendorff. The Ladies B division Mug was won by Debbie Catlett, while Hlengiwe Hlongwane was the winner of the Ladies C division Mug.
Five players were fortunate enough to record a 2 Club on the day, and sharing the prize pool were; Danie Von Molendorff and Sibusiso Sithole on the 4th, Billy Francis on the 8th, Aaron Mbatha on the 12th and Sifiso Kunene on the 16th hole.
Dave’s Wednesday competition for the winter came to an end last week, and it was none other than Jo Khumalo who walked away with the majority share of the Bonus Pod, followed by Kevin Donaldson and Lalla Govender in second and third place respectively.
Dundee Country Club’s professional golfer Louis Albertse (Jnr) continues to keep our Clubs flag flying high on the Sunshine Tour after finishing a very creditable 10th at The Wild Coast Sun C.C. and then once again making the cut and finishing 27th at Selborne Park this past weekend. Louis has now moved up to 52nd on the Order of Merit rankings and we wish him well for his next tournament at Arabella C.C. in the Western Cape.
The N.KZN Men’s league heads into their penultimate round this coming weekend when our two ‘A’ teams and the Frog team travels to Vryheid while the two ‘B’ teams will be competing at Kilbarchan G.C.
This week’s fixtures; Dave’s Wednesday 10 Hole Competition and on Saturday the men are hosting an Inter-Club fundraising competition, a 4 B.B.B.S. format with a number of prizes on offer.
