Bowls District Players announced

ATKV Business League
The first round of the ATKV Business League was played this past Thursday evening. Unfortunately, winter reared its ugly head, hopefully for the last time this year, making playing conditions really challenging, however, everyone’s spirits were high with much joy and laughter ringing out across the greens. A total of 22 teams have entered which means that a total of 88 players take to the greens each evening during this league, a wonderful feat for the both the ATKV and the Club. The leaderboard after the first round was as follows: Cherrybums 4 +24; Queen B’s 4 +16; Paul Coetzer Brokers 4 +14; Buffalo Coal Calcine 4+7.
Please remember that the ATKV will be collecting non-perishable items for the NCVV Service Centre in Glencoe as well as pet food for the Dundee SPCA so please bring along a non-perishable food item or pet food which will be distributed to the beneficiaries.
Remember too that dinner will be for sale on each of the nights. A wine auction will take place on the last night which will be October 25. KZNCB President’s Cup
This past weekend Greg, Jacques, Essie, Nan, Rita and Taryn travelled to Vryheid to play in the KZNCB President’s Cup Tournament. The fellowship and camaraderie amongst the KZNCB bowls family were as strong as ever and the weather played along too, making playing conditions perfect for bowls. At the end of the weekend, the Men’s B side won the tournament and the ladies top spot went to the Veterans team with Nan the skip of the one side. It was also time for the District sides to be announced…congratulations to the following Club members: Des selected as B side third; Essie President Side skip; Nan Senior side skip; Rita A side skip; Taryn B side lead.
Another achievement for Dundee Bowling Club is that Des, Jacques and Taryn have received a call-up to the prelim masters which will take place in Newcastle in March next year, Nan and Rita have been selected to play in the Masters in 2019. Congratulations to all, the Club is extremely proud of each and every one of you. Keep the Dundee flag flying high!

It is with immense pride to announce that Des Johnson has been selected in the Correctional Services Bowls National A side. Congratulations Des, you have worked hard for this accolade and the Club is extremely proud of you!
