Talana Live weekend kicks off with a decidedly Scottish dinner

Dundee’s Scottish roots were brought to the fore at Friday night’s formal military dinner at Battlefields Country Lodge where the theme was definitely Scottish.

The Chief of the SA Reserve Force in KZN, Col Pat Acutt, was in attendance with Scottish chieftain, The MacLaine of Lochbuie (who lives in Durban) as well as judges of the Highland Games and sponsors of Talana Live.

The food was decidedly from the Highlands and Alistair McKenzie admirably performed the addressing of the haggis as per Robbie Burns, Scotland’s greatest poet.
