Centre Manager, Mary Dobbie elaborated.
“We approached Old Mutual for sponsorship to remodel the lounge and received a sizable donation. Andre Swanepoel divided our office space at no cost. Pick ‘ Pay is still our monthly sponsor. This event is just to say thank you.”
After guests were settled in with drinks and snacks, Dobbie spoke on the Crisis Centre celebrating 22 years of existence this year.
She believed a good team contributed to the centre’s success.
While she could not name each and every sponsor, Dobbie said every item within the Crisis Centre had been donated through the community.
Yet the purpose of the Crisis Centre was never forgotten.
“The women and children must be protected, not because they are innocent, but because they are powerless. We have to intensify our efforts to alleviate the suffering and find ways to empower our nation against pain, oppression, poverty and suffering.”
Chairman of the Crisis Centre committee, Morris Gajoo reiterated the message of thanks and acknowledgement to the community and sponsors.
He believed their compassion was an inspiration.

Gajoo added the financial contributions had demonstrated commitment to the centre’s work of feeding and sheltering abused women and children.
“There is no way to fully express our gratitude for your loyalty. We at the Crisis Centre are continually inspired by the dedication and generosity of donors who answer the call to give.”
