Top Ten Thursday: 10 weirdest fashion trends…
Trends come and go, some are more outrageous than others but its all individuals choice whether or not to follow fashion trends.
Fashion designers and artists try to bring something unique and different in their creations. But they expect common people to follow those trends. Sometimes, however, the craze of those designs is not that creative and people find them funny and strange as opposed to stylish.
Here is a list of such top 10 weirdest fashion trends in the world.
10. The weird eyebrows: Sometimes it’s hard to know exactly how much makeup to put on to achieve the natural look. Just a little eyeliner, mascara, foundation, powder, eyeshadow, eyebrow pencil, blusher, bronzer, lipstick, lipliner… you know.. the essentials. Oh, it’s so hard to know, and we wouldn’t want to overdo it. Well, we could always ask this woman for tips, she seems to have it down perfectly. Except for, well, everything on her face.

9. Man bun: The man bun was invented by Sumo Wrestlers, Samurai warriors in Japan and the Scandinavian Vikings. Since then, it has been worn by many more or less famous gents. The popular trend among some men, including famous football players, this trendy hairstyle doesn’t work for everyone.

8. Ripped denim jeans: Just when you thought you had seen it all when it comes to bizarre denim trends – think Topshop’s Ass Rip Jeans – another designer comes along with perhaps the most impractical piece of clothing ever. Enter, thong jeans. I’m not sure why these are even called jeans, they more like pieces of a jean.

7.Weird leggings: Although the ’80s have come and gone, the decade known for bright, bold, outlandish clothes has left an indelible mark on fashion in the form of leggings. Leggings should fit like a second-skin, snugly across the buttocks, thighs, and calves. But be wary of choosing a too-tight pair. The waistband should not be so tight that it creates the dreaded “muffin top”.These snake print leggings are a no especially if they are two sizes smaller than you.

6. Paper waist: The aim of the challenge is drastic weight loss, the incentive being to shrink down to a waist measuring less than a portrait slice of A4.
Starting on the Chinese social media site ‘Sina Weibo’, the trend has now infiltrated Twitter with hundreds of thousands of social media users uploading and boasting their ‘successful’ images onto the sites with pride. Why would you want to have a waist that measures an A4 paper?

5. Teeth nails: Forget about biting your nails. Now you have to worry about your nails biting you.
The Russian-based nail studio posted the whole process down to the small details of molding each tooth and even gave one of the teeth a cavity. What in the world would you want a set of second teeth for?

4. Too revealing: Zodwa waBantu, a socialite, is not scared off showing her skin. She wore this black number at the DVJ last year and left nothing to the imagination. For those who would have struggled to see through the one layer of fabric she had on, she made sure to open the slit of the dress that went up to her waist and raised her leg just to show there was absolutely no underwear.
She has since been trending for showing people pretty much everything. Zodwa is the trendsetter for this one, with the days getting hotter, clothes are getting shorter.

3. Kyle Jenner lip challenge: Teenagers insert their lips into a shot glass, small jar or bottle, then suck out the air, creating a vacuum. The hope is they’ll end up with pouty lips like the reality TV star. Kyle Jenner’s natural full lips are okay but these are a NO.

2. Skin bleaching: Did you ever think skin lightening would be as popular as it is today? But while we know people are addicted to tanning, people worldwide, especially celebs, are visiting the doctor to get a little lighter these days. Okay, this has been trending for years but its still a weird trend. Love your complexion

1. The meat outfit: Skolopad showed up wearing a largely see-through outfit that covered her private parts with boerewors. Lady Gaga’s infamous meat dress in 2010 had nothing on Skolopad’s wors-inspired outfit, especially because the South African celebrity refused to let the meat go to waste. Lady Gaga wore a dress made out of meat at the MTV Vidoe awards in 2010, our local socialite Skolopa wore her R6 000 red number at the Feather Awards a couple of years back.
