International acclaim for Vulintaba golf course
The UK-based International Top 100 Golf Courses website announced Vulintaba as one of the top courses in the world.
A few years ago Peter Matkovich dreamed up a design for a golf course in the heart of the Drakensberg; an oasis where sport enthusiasts could enjoy a round of golf in the picturesque landscape of Newcastle.
Ever since then, the 9-hole course at Vulintaba Country Estate has played host to many sporting events, cementing its place as one of the go-to venues for not only golf, but also weddings and many other events.

After visiting the course in 2018 Stuart McLean, editor of Golf Digest, was so impressed with what he had experienced that he made a call overseas… a call that brought Vulintaba international acclaim.
The UK-based International Top 100 Golf Courses website announced Vulintaba as one of the top courses in the world.
It is the only golf courses in KwaZulu-Natal to achieve this feat. Henry van der Linde, general manager of Vulintaba expressed his pride over the Golf Digest announcement this month.
“It is a huge honour for me and the whole team at Vulintaba. We have an amazing history and we worked very hard to be the best, and to receive an accolade like this is more than we ever expected from our small golf course,” he said.
