A video has surfaced of Monday morning’s scuffle outside the Endumeni Municipality which lead to the firing of at least one shot.

Those in nearby offices told the Courier that they heard one shot been fired and ‘lots of people milling around outside the municipality’.

Insiders said municipal manager, SR Ntuli, whom the new-look Council wanted to put on special leave on Friday after they accused him of ‘being partisan’, entered the building with his own bodyguards. A scuffle broke out between his and other security officials who said the municipal manager was not allowed in the building.

He was eventually let in but not before a shot was fired.  It is unclear as to who fired the shot and it is understood that police are still investigating.
